I can relate. I never liked sharing an office due to all the extra chatter, noise, interruptions, food smells, etc. And that's with only 1 or 2 others before I had severe T. Fortunately, I eventually got my own office.

Nice. I would love to experience that. It's been quite a few years since I have experienced tinnitus that I could even mask with a fan at night.

I feel your pain. Last 2 nights were bad for me, and that's even taking 50 mg Quviviq (newer sleep med) before bedtime and 3 mg Ambien overnight. Broken sleep and waking up with high anxiety, to boot.

Sorry to hear that. I went through a sudden multi-fold increase in tinnitus 27 months ago. Any suspected cause for your recent worsenings?

Mine seemed to increasingly get louder and more volumes in the first 6-8 months of worsening. I’ve had quite a few stretches of quiet tinnitus since, ‘quiet’ being subjective

Hi, I'm taking the liberty of writing to you here. I saw one of your posts where you said you had no trouble sleeping. Do you have loud tinnitus with horrible tones? How does your brain manage to ignore this and get a good night's sleep???

It is honestly a total mystery. It's almost like I 'black out'. I don't usually remember coming close to sleep.

I think my brain is just happy to finally turn off. I usually have water noises playing and a very loud air conditioner as well, but neither of those cover the noise in my skull.

Is it possible to lose hearing by using silicone airplugs (loops) almost 24/7? I'm afraid of overprotecting but TTTS is so annoying.

Other than that, i try to live a healthy natural lifestyle.. plant based diet works for me, practices like mindfulness, going for walks, sometimes distractions with gaming.. living a healthy lifestyle & hope that at some point things get better and can sleep easefully again

its possible, i sleep well with very bad reactive tinnitus.

I have 3 tiers depending how loud it is

      1. Melatonin 5mg
      2. Restavit tablet
      3. 7.5mg-15mg Mirtazapine

Mirtazapine at low doses (less than 15mg) will knock you out. I cut a 15mg tab into quarters and I slept for nearly 24hours. Be careful with it as it has very rarely been associated with Visual Snow Syndrome

@Andrew40 - hello. I forget how much I relate to your case. You have been inside for 1/2 a year. I have been isolating more and more. I wish at the least it helped a little. I’m not sure about you but I will stay in silence for a week, get one percent better only to worsen from an accidental noise exposure. Over and over and over.
